The Summer Jump-Start Workshop comprises fully rigorous lectures which follow a participative and investigative, research-like approach emphasizing motivation, process, and discovery rather than mere presentation of material. Particpants will be asked to actively take part in exploring concepts and connections between them and to relevant applications.

While covering important topics and setting a solid foundation for graduate school, the workshop is intended to help participants transition from a undergraduate/content-consumer attitude to a more pro-active/content-producer one. This, past experience shows, is a crucial first step in a successful transition into graduate studies.
