Exam Date Reminders and Materials
Midterm Date: Monday May 9th, in class. Review Session: Friday May 6th, 7-9pm @ RH 104.
For the Midterm:
. Some Practice Problems that I picked out. Don't worry too much about exact computations. Also, here are the solutions. Please let me know if you see any errors.
. Hints to some of the tricky problems if you want to try them. *Problems Plus #13 is actually way too hard, don't bother with it.*
. Here's the professor's practice midterm, and also the solutions. *Added a comment on 1(a).
. ** For solutions to the midterms, see the main course webpage! ** It is linked at the top of this page.

Final Exam Date: Monday June 6, 10:30am - 12:30pm. Review Session: Saturday June 4th, 1-3pm @ NS2-1201.

Here's the practice final and also the solutions. Thank you for catching any errors!
Caught Mistakes (which have been fixed now):
In 4 Solution 2, the graph and the resulting computations are now fixed.
In 5(b), for the grad(f) x F terms at the very end, the i-hat is now correctly (f_y R - f_z Q).
In 8(a), a factor of the radius a was missing in the denominator. In 8(b) F is the gradient of -u, not +u. The final answer should then be 1/d_1 - 1/d_2.
These have all been fixed now - I updated the solutions. Still though, if you catch any more mistakes, please let me know!

Some problems on the "theoretical" side for training for the final:
16.3: #29, 30, 35 (your homework was good).
16.4: #21, 29, 31
16.5: #19-36. I like, 19-22, 33-36.
16.6: #51,58,59,60 (58 should be treated more like 59 and 60 though)
16.7: #4,37,38,48,49. The majority of this section is computational, though.
16.Review: Pg 1148 T/F Quiz, Pg 1149 #13, 21-23, 25, 26(a)(c), 28-30, 37.
Some sketched solutions and hints to most of the above problems. Also, some words of advice on studying.

Make sure you are comfortable with your homework. For more practice, try other problems around the homework problems.
For example:
16.3: #12-20
16.4: #1-14, 17-20
16.5: #1-12 (checks the basics), 13-18
16,6: #19-26, 33-36, 39-50.
16.7: #5-32.

Notes and Resources
*1. Things not to do as a student. The author calls it a list of "badvice."

2. Trignometric Identities cheat sheet. I really like this one because it gives brief derivations of them, too.

3. Professor Hezari's Note on changing order of integration from 2D, Another Note on changing the order, but for triple integrals.

4. Determinants: Cofactor Expansion: Notes and a video on this. There's also a Diagonal method: Notes and video. These are hopefully familiar from a way to find cross products.

5. Using Green's theorem to get Areas.

6.
Academic Honesty. Know that you are really cheating yourself if you do so.

Quizzes (On Thursdays)
Quizzes are on the same sections as the homework for the week.
.The corresponding sections in Chapter 15 only are just off by one in the 7th edition. So, if we are on 15.2 in the 8th edition, it is 15.3 in the 7th edition. If we are on 15.6 in the 8th edition, we are on 15.7 in the 7th edition, etc.
.There is no section difference in Chapter 16 between the 7th and 8th editions.
** Keep in mind the problems between the different editions may vary slightly. Please see a friend who has the 8th edition, come to office hours to compare the versions, or see me after section.
Quiz 1 Morning Solutions, Quiz 1 Afternoon Solutions
Quiz 2 Morning Solutions, Quiz 2 Afternoon Solutions
Quiz 3 Morning Solutions, Quiz 3 Afternoon Solutions
Quiz 4 Morning Solutions, Quiz 4 Afternoon Solutions
Quiz 5 Morning Solutions, Quiz 5 Afternoon Solutions
For Quiz 6 Solutions, see the solutions to my practice problems above, under Exam stuff.
Quiz 6 Morning: #2a, 6, 9, 11. Quiz 6 Afternoon: #2a, 4, 12, 13.
Homework 7 in place of Quiz 7. Please adhere to the instructions. No quiz this week, but you must turn in this homework at the beginning of section.
Quiz 8 Morning Solutions, Quiz 8 Afternoon Solutions
Quiz 9 Morning Solutions, Quiz 9 Afternoon Solutions
Last Quiz Morning Solutions, Last Quiz Afternoon Solutions, and Problem 2 with Divergence Theorem for both quizzes.
**Final is everything up to and including 16.7, with emphasis on the material after the midterm.**
