Grading: The final grade in this course will be based on:

Assignments and WeBWork15%
Midterm Exam I20%
Midterm Exam II25%
Final Exam40%

Disability Services Any student who feels he or she may need an accomomdation based on the impact of a disability should contact me privately to discuss his or her specific needs. Also contact the Disability Services Center at (949) 824-7494 as soon as possible to better ensure that such accommodations are implemented in a timely fashion.

Assignments: Assignments will be given in lecture periodically during the quarter. These assignments will be graded and should not be confused with the non-graded Exercises described below.

WeBWork: WeBWork is an internet-based system of homework problems similar to the problems found in the text at the end of each section (see Exercises below). The details of WeBWork assignments will be presented in lecture and discussion section.

Exercises: Working review problems provided at the end of each section in the text is a valuable indicator of how well you understand the course material. Recommended problems will be given in lecture. However, these problems will not be graded, and completing these exercises is left to the discretion of the student.

Late Assignments and Exams: Late work will be accepted only with an appropriate reason and documentation; a commensurate penalty will be assessed.

Exams: All exams are closed notes and books. Picture I.D. with signature is required and must be presented upon request. A scientific calculator is required. However, you may not use a graphing calculator, laptop computer, or equivalent technology. The date of each exam will be announced in lecture. All cell phones and pagers must be switched off.

Midterm Exam I will be based on sections 2.1 through 3.5 as outlined below in Course Calendar (below).
Midterm Exam II will be based on sections 3.6 through 4.2 and 4.9 as outlined below in Course Calendar (below).
The Final Exam will be comprehensive and given at the scheduled time as published in the Schedule of Classes.
