Open Road sends me a list of TC's novels somewhere around the first day of the month. Today, OR had a list of 13 TC novels. For the rest of the month, the offerings come one-at-a-time.

This month it coincided with many articles on QAnon and supporters of Trump-enhanced ''conspiracy theories.'' Of course, they aren't ''theories'' at all. Excuse me, I'm a mathematician with long, hard papers on famous (to mathematicians and physicists) unsolved problems. I do theories, with conclusions supported by facts. These can't be confused with those.

They are Diatribes on Evil, something that no one can doubt TC would have appreciated. They are desires for power on the part of some, and wishes on the part of others that they represent precious knowledge about a Deep State. This is accompanied with many by the plea, Oh Lord (though not the Lord I pray to), save me. Mine includes the real Jesus, not the militant conquerer of the pleaers enemies. In completely different places there were more technical articles on the Biden and Harris administrations intended to deal with Trump legacies.

I found it an interesting list, revealing the most conspicuous change in TC's writing direction, around the middle of the '50s.

Forgive me. Alas, I have said this before. That was around the time TC and Marcus Reback experienced a home invasion, whose repercussions included the not so distant death of Mr. Reback.

Not included were the five novels on which I spent most of my newsletters: Those I called the Mediterranean Novels. Further, while it appears that evil was constantly a part of TC's mind, this list excludes several that are on that topic; yet, are among her best. For example, Time No longer and Testimony of Two Men. There were many reasons to like those including her heroines. Also, her (somewhat) prescient stance against evils that many Americans (eventually) agreed upon. Most telling to me was the bifurcation into two periods of TC's novel writing life. OR offers all at the reduced price of $2.99.

There is a 2-item list at the end of that bifurcation that consists of novels that apparently continue to sell, likely because they seem more intimately connected to TC, the real person. I indicate the publication dates and include a link to the OR site where you can click to make a purchase.

Deep State, Industrial America: These are the novels – excluding Arm and the Darkness, on industrial America that Marcus Reback helped her get into print. There are key words that play into diatribes on evil, though many of her protagonists where cast in heroic colors, akin to the games of Ayn Rand.
  1. Dynasty of Death (1939)
  2. The Strong City (1942)
  3. The Turnbulls (1943)
  4. The Arm and the Darkness (1943)
  5. The Final Hour (1944)
  6. Never Victorious, Never Defeated (1954)
Diatribes on Evil: Many symbols of evil, and a list of her enemies, including FDR and liberals. She never defined them, except as hypocrites in every way she could. Hmmm!
  1. Your Sins and Mine (1955)
  2. Wicked Angel (1965)
  3. Dialogues with the Devil (1967)
  4. Bright Flows the River (1978)
  5. Answer as a Man (1980)
TC Personally (sort-of): Birchers loved her autobiography. As for the Atlantis novel, probably it is only a bit her, from a child-hood fantasy. At the time it was published, the revolutionary theory (not a fantasy) of plate techonics was guiding an understanding of the ocean floor and the continents. It had no affect on this novel, which is more romantic than science fiction.
  1. On Growing Up Tough (1971)
  2. The Romance of Atlantis (1975)

It's still winter: Have you noticed?
