We will continue to discuss the deformation of the Calabi-Yau manifolds and prove that the univeral deformation space is smooth locally. We will also put the Weil-Petersson metric on the deformation space and study the geometry of the space.

We shall define the Weil-Petersson metric on the polarized Calabi-Yau manifolds and prove that it is the curvature of the first Hodge bundle.

May 14, 2002

We will compute the curvature of the Weil-Petersson metric and define the Hodge metric on the moduli space of CY manifolds.

We will give a talk on special Kaehler manifolds and its relations to the moduli spaces of Calabi-Yau manifolds.

The study of harmonic maps between Riemannian manifolds has been well developed. Over the last decade, more general target spaces has been considered and the resulting theory have been successfully applied in various different contexts. In this talk, we will consider harmonic maps into metric spaces of curvature bounded from above. As one application, we will show the construction of a Teichmuller map between compact Riemann surfaces.
