Professor Peter Lis work on eigenvalues, heat flow, and harmonic functions on Riemannian manifolds have greatly influenced the field of Geometric Analysis. In recent years, there have been many new developments in this area, as well as many new applications to various other branches of mathematics and physics, making it appropriate to celebrate Peter's 60th birthday with a conference on topics in differential geometry related to his contributions.
Conference on Geometric Analysis -- in honor of Peter Li's Research and the 19th SCGAS will be held at UCI on 1/14-1/17/2012.
Graduate students, fresh Ph.D.s and under-represented groups are especially welcome to join this conference.
Participants are requested to register in advance using this electronic registration form. The registration fee is $40.
There will be a banquet at the University Club at 6:30pm on Sunday, 1/15/2012. If you intend to join the banquet, please check the appropriate box in the electronic registration form. Due to potentially large number of attendents, we can't ensure the seats if you don't register in advance.
You can look here to see the list of people already registered.
The conference is supported by grants from the National Science Foundation, the International Science Foundation, and the CORCL from the School of Physical Sciences at UCI.
A large portion of the NSF grant will be distributed to graduate students, recent Ph.Ds and under-represented groups. If you apply for financial aid, please indicate that in the electronic registration form NO LATER THAN Nov 1, 2011.
