Math 77C: Image Processing

Image processing is a technique in which the data from an
image are digitized and various mathematical operations are applied to
the data, generally with a computer, in order to create an enhanced
image that is more useful or pleasing to a human observer, or to
perform some of the interpretation and recognition tasks usually
performed by humans.
In this course, students will learn image de-noising, de-blurring, low pass filtering, image segmentation and classification and sparse represenations. Students will combine mathematical analysis and computational tools to create programs which can enhance key image features and remove undesired features and noise from images.
