In this second week we introduce the concept of metric space, which
makes it possible to consider convergence on more general spaces than
$\mathbb{R}$. The very important Banach Fixed Point theorem is proved
Lecture 3 for a general complete metric space. Lecture 4 deals with
topological concepts in metric spaces. The very important concept of
compactness will be introduced and analyzed.
