AMC is a student-initiated academic group dedicated to serving the
needs and interests of all students interested in mathematics. The
goal of AMC is to build a strong mathematics student community at UC
Irvine. In particular, AMC provides opportunities for students to
explore areas of mathematics outside the classroom, enhance
inter-student communication and co-operation and begin preparing for
future careers in mathematics. Open to everyone who enjoys math and
wants to meet new people, it
- hosts social outings, career explorations, and talks about math,
graduate school, undergraduate research, etc.
- organizes an Annual Integration Bee (students go head-to-head to see who
can solve complex integrals the fastest).
- runs a ompetition on creating math videos in response to
3Blue1Brown’s creator Grant Sanderson’s advocacy (Feynman
technique: learning by teaching).
Information about current activities
