Survey of Drinfel'd's work on GT and its associated quantumn groups
Abstract: I will give an overview of Drinfel'd's paper "On quasitriangular quasi-Hopf
algebras and a group closely connected with GalQ (Leningrad Math. J, 1991). I will talk
about his notion of quasi-triangular quasi-Hopf quantized universal enveloping algebras.
I will explain how it relates to the Knizhnik-Zamolodchikov equation
and the Yang-Baxter
equation and how he comes to define the
Grothendieck-Teichmuller group.
