Prerequisite Materials for Math 121A
  1. Proofs
A review of proof by inductions as well as quantifiers and their negations.

  2. Row Operations
Covers the elementary row operations on matrices, row echelon form, reduced row echelon form, and solving matrix equations using row operations.

  3. Subspaces
Defines subspaces of Rn and gives some examples and non-examples of subspaces.

  4. Bases
Reviews the ideas of linear independence, spanning, and basis. Includes concept of dimension of subspaces and how to determine these properties.

  5. Eigenvalues
Covers eigenvalues, eigenvectors, and eigenspaces along with how to determine each one from a given matrix.

  6. Diagonalization
Describes what it means to be a diagonalizable matrix and how to diagonalize certain types of matrices, including an application of diagonalization.
