Transportation

Airports

The University of California at Irvine is centrally located in southern California (map). The most convenient and nearby airport is the John Wayne Orange County Airport (SNA) which is about a short 10-15 minute drive from campus. Two alternative airports are the Long Beach Airport (LGB), about a 30-minute drive from campus, and the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), about a 50-minute drive away. If you fly into LAX, taking a shuttle bus, Uber, or Lyft to UC Irvine or a nearby hotel usually costs around $50-$60.

Campus Maps and Parking

The talks will take place in Engineering Lecture Hall 100 (Building 305) which you can locate on the campus map. On the map, Engineering Lecture Hall is located in G8. An interactive map can be found here.

The parking structure that is closest to the Engineering Lecture Hall (ELH Building 305) is the Anteater Parking Structure (APS). Single-day parking permits are available for purchase from the permit dispenser located right in front of the information booth at the entrance of the parking structure. On weekends, the "general" $10 one-day permit allows you to park in both unmarked and AR parking spots. Please note that a valid permit must be displayed at all times when parking on the campus of UC Irvine. For participants from other UC campuses, the parking permit from your home institution may be valid at UC Irvine. Please see the UC Irvine Visitor Parking website or call the parking office at (949) 824-7275 for more information.

From the Anteater Parking Structure, there will be posted signs directing you to Engineering Lecture Hall 100.
