Homework:

Homework will be posted online. There will be weekly homework due at the beginning of lecture on Fridays. Be kind to the grader by writing clearly. You may work with others and use any other resources to figure out the homework, but the write up must be your own. You must show your work to receive full credit. Also include your name, student ID and section number. No late homework will be accepted. However, the lowest two homework scores will be dropped at the end of the quarter.

Exams:

There will be two midterms and a final. There are no make-up exams, so save the following dates:

Use of the textbook, notes or calculators will not be allowed during the exams. Please be aware of UCLA's policies about academic integrity.

Grading:

The final grade will be determined by the maximum of the following two schemes:
Scheme 1: Scheme 2:

  • Midterm 1:  20%
  • Midterm 2:  20%
  • Final Exam:   50%
