Department policies
Course textbooks
- Linear Algebra with Applications, 8th edition, Steven Leon (or the UCI edition, which consists of selected chapters of the 8th edition.)
- Calculus, 7th edition, James Stewart (or "Single Variable Calculus: Early Transcendentals 2A/2B", which is an initial segment of the 7th edition.)
Homework and quiz policy
Homework will generally be due on Thursdays in your discussion section.
No homework will be due on Thursday of the first week.
On most days in which a homework assignment is due, you will have a quiz
on the corresponding material in your discussion section.
Late homework will not be accepted, and no make-up quizzes will be
given for any reason (not even an extremely good one!) To compensate
for any unavoidable absences, each student's lowest two homework scores
and lowest two quiz scores will not be counted in his or her grade.
