All phenomena including social norms and conventions, language, and cooperation, can be studied in the franework of the evolutionary theory, by using various tools of applied mathematics. Some of the methodologies include dynamical systems, partial differential equations, stochastic modeling and computational approaches such as agent-based modeling. There are great resources on UCI campus for collaboration with cognitive scientists, economists and linguists, most important one being the Institute for Mathematical and Behavioral Sciences.
