Required text:    Robert E. Greene and Steven G. Krantz, "Function Theory of One Complex Variable", third edition (additional references will be provided for a few topics not covered by this book).

Grading:    Weekly homework 25%, midterm exam 25%, final exam 50%, or final exam 100%, whatever is higher.

Collaboration Policy:   You may discuss homework problems with other students, but solutions should be written up individually in your own words.

Homework 1 (due Thursday, April 12, to be turned in during the discussion session): Chapter 10, problems 9, 10, 12, 17 (a, b, c, d). In each part of the problem 7 determine the genus of the corresponding Riemann surface.
