Notes/Resources
In these summary notes, there are often movable pictures. To make them move, download the file and open
in Acrobat Reader. Most lightweight pdf-readers/browser-plugins do not have the technology to interpret
animations and 3D-pictures.
Difficulty: some of the content in these notes is for your interest, to help you see a little further than
what's examinable. If something makes no sense, ask!
Suggested Questions: at the end of each pdf are a few questions for you to try. The last one is usually
harder than anything you could be asked in the exam.. Solutions will appear in a drop-box on eee.

Webwork
Webwork is an online homework system for calculus. Assignments are posted each Thursday night (starting 1/19)
and are due each Friday at 11pm (starting 1/27). We will drop a small number of points from Webwork at the end of term,
so if one question is frustrating you, don't worry about it!
On-campus link: http://homework.ps.uci.edu/webwork
For off-campus use, you must login through the campus VPN system:
- Visit http://www.oit.uci.edu/vpn/
- Click "Software VPN for Mac/Windows/Linux"
- Click "Download the Software VPN"
- Log in, download and install the VPN Client - Save a shortcut to your desktop to make it easier
- Run the client, type vpn.uci.edu into the box and click `connect'
- Select UCI (then only UCI traffic will go through the client)
- Enter your UCINetID and usual password. If all goes well, the client will vanish.
- You can now open a browser and point it to https://homework.ps.uci.edu/webwork/ which should now display
Either way, you can now click the correct course (Math 2B - 44440) and log-in (usual UCINetID/password)
If you have problems setting up the VPN or logging in, don't contact the TA or Professor! We have no ability to help you with connectivity issues or changing passwords.
- For VPN issues, follow the suggestions on http://www.oit.uci.edu/vpn/ and contact the OIT helpdesk if it still doesn't work.
- If you can reach http://homework.ps.uci.edu/webwork but can't log in: check you have the correct course code, 44360. If you still have problems, follow the link on the WebWork page to contact the WebWork administrators.
