Professor Zhiqin Lu has been invited to give plenary lecture at Spring 2012 Meeting of the AMS Western Section. The American Mathematical Society is only able to honor seven or eight mathematicians annually with invitations to deliver Invited Addresses to Western Section Meetings.
Profesosr Lu is a Full Professor in the Department of Mathematics. He received the Alfred P. Sloan Research Fellowship in 2003. In 2004, he was awarded an NSF Career Award. In 2007, he gave a one-hour plenary address at the Fourth International Congress of Chinese Mathematicians. His research is in geometric analysis, complex algebraic geometry, and several complex variables.
